The city is moving. So are you.

LariRun is a one-button endless runner through Jakarta's rooftops, terraces and kampung streets. Jump over gerobak, dodge rolling balls and motorcycles, and see how far your momentum can take you.

A quick tap clears smaller obstacles. Hold a little longer to reach higher and farther. Find your rhythm through quiet stretches, tougher sequences and the occasional tremor.

What's in this build

  • Rooftop runs that descend into terraces and lively neighborhood streets.
  • Gerobak, water tanks, trash cans, crates and construction barriers.
  • Children playing beside the route, with rolling balls to jump over.
  • Parked and approaching motorcycles, plus low-flying birds.
  • Difficulty waves that alternate challenges with room to recover.
  • Colorful pixel graphics, original synthesized music and distinct impact sounds.
  • Quick retries and a personal best saved in your browser.

How to play

  • Space / Up arrow: jump; hold for a higher jump.
  • Mouse / touch: press and hold the game area, or use the touch JUMP button.
  • P / Escape: pause or resume.
  • Use Sound to mute and **Less motion** to disable camera shake.
  • Bins, crates, balls and birds slow you down. Gerobak, tanks, barriers and motorcycles end the run on contact. Keep enough space for the next jump!

A work in progress

This is an early playable build. More scenery and polish are planned. If something feels unfair or looks wrong, leave a comment with your distance, the obstacle involved, and your browser/device. Screenshots help.

Credits and development

Built with LittleJS by KilledByAPixel, used under its MIT license. Inspired by classic one-button runners, including Canabalt. LariRun is an independent project and is not affiliated with Canabalt or its creators.

Developed with generative AI assistance for code, artwork and text. Music and sound effects are synthesized using AI-assisted code and composition; no recorded Canabalt sounds are used. The game does not call generative AI services during play.
